A Few Good (Lateral) Thoughts #11
Quick little thoughts at the end of the week
Here’s what you definitely missed from this week (because sending hours were… chaotic, to say the least):
Welcome to the 11th Friday Special:
Week #11 is the same like last week, folks. It’s technically Saturday in most places, but still Friday in some, so this counts. Sue me if you don’t like it.
The newsletter has been pretty constant this past two weeks, which makes me happy, because I couldn’t handle the stress of keeping up with it otherwise.
A lot of you replied to yesterday’s email that you want more challenging puzzles. Fine. Don’t say you didn’t ask for it. We’ll talk more about this next week.
Without further ado, here are a few things that came to mind, but didn’t make it to a newsletter:
You can criticize things, but still participate in them
A lot of people I know (myself included) criticize Tesla’s business practices that are basically all meant to inflate its stock artificially. Is it morally repulsive? Yes. Does it work? Also yes. Have I personally invested in Tesla and more than 2x’ed my money? Also yes. That won’t stop me from criticizing it. And it shouldn’t stop anyone else.
Focus on actively communicating
The best people I know when it comes to communicating (in general), have 0 skills or expertise in the field. People who have done this for decades usually suck at actual human communication because they’ve built their entire dynamic around a single company.
Instead, try to be dynamic and adapt from situation to situation.
That’s all we have for today, folks. It’s been a week. Good, bad, we don’t know, but it’s been a week.
See you all on Monday!
